I think the body my missing Jean-Baptist Allie (who does not show up in church or cemetery records) may have been thrown down a well, or eaten by vultures about 1876. 1. [ILSTANNE] MyFamily.com and RootsWeb.com join forces
    2. I just received a notice saying "MyFamily.com and RootsWeb.com join forces" For the full press release, see http://www.ancestry.com/home/celebrate/rootsrelease.htm. MyFamily is part of the Ancestry.com group that charges to view their on-line genealogy holdings. The e-mail also states, "RootsWeb.com will continue to be free to all users and will maintain its own unique URL at http://www.rootsweb.com." I certainly hope so, but I can't help but wonder how long the FREE access will apply....or will Ancestry soon be putting any new RootsWeb data on their pay to view site? Making a profit from the genealogy work done by private researchers really upsets me. I send a notice with all of my FTM files stating they are NOT to be contributed to any commercial genealogical project without my written permission. However, my research keeps appearing on various web sites...including Ancestry, Family Tree Maker, LDS, and personal sites. My entire Boyer genealogy is now on the LDS site and being SOLD on their CD #1. It was contributed by a man I shared my entire Boyer research file with. Our St Anne group is an excellent sample of "sharing" genealogy. It is beneficial to everyone. We should strive to keep genealogy free. Audrey

    1. [ILSTANNE] DELLIBAC
    2. Paula Lezotte
    3. Vicki, Norma Jackson and I are reseaching the same people. Her Moise Delliabc born Jan. 20,1866, is brother to both of my great grand mothers Josephine Dellibac and Corine Dellibac. Josephine Dellibac married on my mothers side and Corine Dellibac married on my fathers side. I have not found a Mary Dellibac. I have came across a few Dellibac's still living here in Kankakee, Illinois. I have even sent them letters to see if these people are related in any way, and no one has answered. I have obits and death cert of other Dellibac's but just can't them pieced together. I have not been able to get a death cert. for either Moise Dellibac or Anastasie Mombleau here in Kankakee County or in Iroquois county, Illinois. I don't know if Moise Dellibac had any siblings. In the 1860 census from St. Anne Illinois there is a Alexis Dellibac age 56, wife Felicite age 50 and five children. Julian Dellibac age 36 wife Angle age 35 living next to them, there is a Charlotte Dellibac age 90 living with them. Now in the 1880 census Moise and Anastasie are living next to Alexis and Felicite Dellibac. Alexis and Felicite have a grand daughter living with them, I think it is an Agnes Cote age 18. I have been taking a rest from researching the Dellibac, since it seamed that I have hit a brick wall. Good Luck Paula __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. Holly, Sorry to hear the news regarding your mother. I wish you all the best of luck and hope your mother will have a great outcome. Give her my regards. Don -----Original Message----- From: Forgue@webtv.net [mailto:Forgue@webtv.net] Sent: Monday, June 12, 2000 08:18 PM To: ILSTANNE-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [ILSTANNE] Genealogy & Medical Records Hi all, The importance of including medical information in our genealogy records hit home today. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and my daughter took her grandmother for her first trip to the Oncologist. He had many questions about who else in our family has or had cancer, perhaps to help determine if we are also at a high risk and might need testing to further determine risks, or possibly her chances of beating this. Cindy said to me, "Mom, when you're working on your genealogy, don't forget to include all of the medical information you know of or find. It could be very important later." I was aware of this at one time, but needed to be reminded. Holly ============================== Search ALL of RootsWeb's mailing lists in real time. 1. [ILSTANNE] Thank you
    2. I would like to thank everyone for the kind & thoughtful messages that I received after I posted the message about the importance of attaching medical info to our genealogy records. I hesitated about posting this at first because it wasn't strictly St. Anne, but just felt it was important. I had not intended the message to Elaine to be posted to the list, but tend to be quick to hit that "reply" button. Thanks again, Holly

    2. Thanks for the kind and thoughtful message. I hope that you are doing better now...you must have gone thru a lot. My mother had a masectomy, but they also found cancer in the lymph nodes. She will be starting Chemo, followed by radiation. I'm sure she has a difficult time ahead of her. Holly

    2. Holly, Best wishes for your Mother from here too. I had a breast cancer scare last month and the fact that I knew 3 generations before me didn't have it gave me some peace of mind while waiting for the biopsy results. Thanks for the reminder. Robbin

    2. Hi Holly, Thank you for posting this important reminder. I am guilty of not including as much medical info as I should in my genealogy files. Will definitely do better in the future! I hope your mother's treatment goes as well as possible and that she makes a complete recovery. You all have a long road ahead, but sounds like your mother will have a lot of support. I'll keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. Beth

    3. Teresa -- WELCOME TO THE BEST 'GROUP' AROUND!! Please tell us ALL the names you are researching in regards to your French Canadian heritage. It is extremely awakening for me to see how our french families moved to areas and others followed behind them. I too, had family that came from Canada to Illinois, then SOME went to Kansas then up to Iowa while others went from Illinois directly to Iowa. Hope your searches are productive.
