Hello list, I have received a scan of a marriage record for Moyse JOUBERT and Julia LAVALLEE, and a birth record for their son, Louis JOUBERT. Both records are written in French. I can make out some of the French, but I would like to know if anyone would be interested in transcribing and translating these records for me so that I can share this information with the list. The records are not lengthy. The records are dated in the 1840's. Also mentioned in the records are Joseph JOUBERT, Marriane Madeline LAVALLEE, Maria Anne GIROUARD, Louis LAVALLEE, Charlotte PAQUET, and Louis DEMERS. Thanks, Vernon DuBar mailto:[email protected]
Hello: Do not have anything on Basile death but there is an interesting entry in Fr Chiniquy's ledger where Basile was a witness to a wedding. 24 Apr 1854 Louis Lafleur, minor son of Benoni Lafleur & Louise Hood of bourbonnais to Marguerite Cheffer, minor daughter of Joseph Cheffer & Henriette Lavigne, of this parish. Dave Yes Dave It was your dad Ray King and his buddy Paul Dionne. They also had an airplane they shared. They had taken the scout troop to the island in Wilmington,IL. for a Scout Jamboree about 1949 or 1950. The menu included a hot dog wrapped in a pancake. I also remember going to a Benoit reunion at the Grove on Cooper pony farm near your French site. So where do Ronald King and Rosemary King fit in ??. I believe I went to school with them in Bradley during the 50's. Do you remember When Virgil Kinneman was mayor. When Harry Stutz was chief of police and shot himself in the foot When Bernard Grill was a prisoner of war and survived the Battan death march. When the television appeared at the American Legion and the Friday night fish fries. When Bill Buckavitch was the football coach. When King and Dionne were scout leaders at Troop 105. When Mr Smith was principle at the High School When grass was something to sit on. Well if you remember than welcome to a senior moment Later Jack Langlois

I regret that I wasn't able to get to the centennial celebrations at the time, but all my St. Anne uncles, aunts, and cuzzes were involved. The uncles, like most of the men, grew beards for the event. Cousin Jackie can give you lotsa info about old St. Anne if you need it.

If my memory serves me correctly : In the 1950's Edward J.Hebert was a semi truck driver for the Rudolph express company in Bradley. The owner was Tony Rudolph and Tony would hold St.Joseph church functions in the truck building. Edward and Lillian had several children including the sons Chris and Mark. Chris had attended Bradley H.S. and was active in sports. Mark attended St.Joseph grade school 1943-1951 and then graduated from Bradley H.S. in 1955 . Mark went on to join the navy on 16 Aug 1955 and served as an electricians mate on the USS Castor Aks, a supply ship working out of Yokasuka,Japan. He was in typhoon Jean with waves as high as 55 feet above the water. I also seem to remember Mark went to St.Patricks H.S.,Kankakee in 1951 Later Jack Langlois
