Adeline age 7, born Illinois 4. Celestine age 4,born Illinois 5. Celestine age,33, Trade was (cooper), born Canada. Well they lived in Illinois in 1853 and 1856 according to childrens birth. I looked in the 1850 census of will county and they were not listed. If they married in will county in 1851,then it is highly probable they were married in Bourbonnais,IL. Maternity Blessed Virgin Mary,Catholic church, The marraige would be recorded at MBVM church in Bourbonnais.now in Kankakee Co.Illinois In 1851 Bourbonnais was part of will county as Kankakee did not become a county until 1853. Kankakee county was formed from Will and Iroquois counties. The 1851 Will County marriage license and marriage would be recorded at the county Bldg. in Joliet,Illinois. Hope this helps. a Bientot Jack Langlois

    1. [ILSTANNE] Alphonse Boudreau -Kankakee and Will County link
    2. Hi Listers: It has been a while since I have E-mailed the list and I would appreciate your help once again. Still, after finding all the information about Alphonse BOUDREAU and his wife Cecelia ALLEN (ALLAIN) with the help of Carol Ann and you listers and all the discoveries that I have made in Nebraska; my Boudreau trail still leads back to Kankakee, Iroquois and Will Counties. There isn't anymore information in Nebraska that will help me find Alphonse BOUDREAU(X) (b. ABT. 1825) and Cecilia ALLAIN (b. ABT. 1830), birth place and parents (both were born in Quebec). I found information about Alphonse and Cecilia's children and I am in contact with the descendants of their youngest daughter Angeline, but they have no concrete info, only hearsay from a grandmother. The grandmother said, her family were from Port Royal, Acadia by the way of Quebec. However, that doesn't really help all that much; without names of ancestors. The only other clue we have is: Alphonse's brother was Celestine (Celestin), who was listed on the 1860 Iroquois census and was listed as 33. My new cousins and I are wondering if someone one on the list could help us find a 1850 Will County Census, if that is possible. Was Will County, a county, way back then? I know that Alphonse married Cecelia on October 19, 1851, in Will County and also my gr. gr. grandfather Pierre GIGUERRE married Marie PROVENCHER, in Will County, also. (Marie's parents Louis PROVENCHER and Appoline BELAND, also were in the Kankakee area) Alphonse BOUDREAU and Cecelia ALLAIN'S family must have traveled together to Kankakee; so I think it would help to explore other BOUDREAU and ALLAIN families who were in the area of Kankakee in the late 1840''s through 1868. If there are any BOUDREAU or ALLAIN (Allen) descendants in the area, we need your help, because we have hit a brick wall. Thank you, Mary Boudreau

    1. Re: [ILSTANNE] BECK & CLOUATRE
    2. Hello Brenda, My first response to you bounced back to me so I'll try again. First off, thank you for your investigation. Some of the info I did have but some I did not. Interesting theory about SOLOMEA CLOUATRE possibly being 2d wife to PIERRE BECK. One of the older group of children (PETER) born in Montreal lists SOLOMEA as his mother so I tend to think they all had the same parents. But I'll keep that thought in the back of my head since I have learned to never discount a possibility. Can you tell me a little bit about this book by Rev. Albert Ledoux you mentioned? What type of info is in it? By the way, I did get some of the Scandanavian height. I am 5'9". With the French Canadian/Danish mix my father and his siblings were half and half. They ranged from 5'0" to 6'2". Is anyone aware of possible resources regarding schools in Kankaee Township in 1860? Since PIERRE BECK was listed as schoolteacher in that census he may well have been doing just that at the time. And of course he was French speaking so that may narrow it down. Thanks Rolayne Nelson

    2. Hello: I am not sure what you mean by stating that you do not have access to the Mormon history films and wouldn't know how to read them anyway. It sounds like you are giving up before you even start. As I told you yesterday, the marriage register for that date will include the names of the parents. You can either lament that you do not know the names of the parents or you can find out where your closest Family History Center is located, then go there and rent the microfilm. the good people there are very helpful and will show you how to use the microfilm reader. However, prolonged discussions can become unwieldy as the group grows and the e-mail addresses of group members constantly change. It was from this concept of shared discussion among individuals with common research interests that the idea of Mailing Lists was born. The first and largest genealogy Mailing List, ROOTS-L, was started in 1987. Today there are many types of Mailing Lists at RootsWeb and elsewhere covering almost every subject imaginable. RootsWeb Mailing Lists are all free and cover a wide variety of genealogy-related topics. There are lists dealing with surnames, various geographic locations, or a variety of topics such as ethnic, religious, or occupational groups, lists that offer census lookups, or even lists devoted exclusively to the descendants of a specific ancestor. There are lists to provide help with the use of RootsWeb resources, help with genealogy and computer software programs, and general computer and Internet help with the goal of assisting you in your genealogical research. Mailing Lists are also available for the use of the various volunteer organizations hosted by RootsWeb. RootsWeb lists use a software program called SmartList to process requests to subscribe and unsubscribe, to manage the subscriber list, and to handle the distribution of mail to list members. All RootsWeb lists are "closed" lists, which means that only a Mailing List subscriber may post a message. Having closed Mailing Lists helps to ensure that they remain spam-free and secure. RootsWeb Mailing Lists do not permit attachments and limit all messages to plain text -- ensuring that viruses and malicious code cannot make their way to the Mailing List subscribers via the list itself. Volunteer Mailing List administrators manage most of RootsWeb's more than 25,500 lists. List administrators set their own rules for the lists within the bounds of RootsWeb's AUP (Acceptable Use Policy). Mailing Lists often develop a personality or atmosphere of their own as a result of the management style of the administrator and the contributions of the members. Some lists, such as those for rare surnames, have only a few members and limited, but vital discussion, while other lists have thousands of subscribers with hundreds of messages posted every day. Often researchers decide whether to subscribe to a list in mail mode or digest mode based on the number of messages they receive from the list on a daily basis. Subscribing to Mailing Lists gives you access to the knowledge of expert list members on the subjects the lists cover, such as what records are available in a specific locality during a specific time period and where and how to obtain copies, or what records were maintained by a specific religious group. Most lists have long-time subscribers who are willing and able to answer your queries or to direct you to someone who can. Mailing Lists put you in touch with others looking for the same information and those who are willing to share their knowledge. Mailing Lists encourage in-depth discussion within the group, and joining a Mailing List often leads to finding new cousins. RootsWeb's Mailing Lists are listed under these categories: Surnames, U.S.A. (locality specific), International, and Other. You can subscribe and unsubscribe from a Mailing List at any time as your needs and interests change. While subscribed to a list, you may post messages for distribution to all list subscribers and you will receive copies of all messages posted by the other list members. You may subscribe in regular mail or list mode (almost always designated by: -L) and receive a single copy of each individual message sent by other list members to the list, or in what's called digest mode (almost always: -D) and receive a digest -- a collection of several messages lumped together into one e-mail. See Section 5 [of the RootsWeb Review] for information about brand-new Mailing Lists at RootsWeb. To find and join the RootsWeb's Mailing Lists that meet your needs click on the Mailing Lists tab near the top of the RootsWeb Home Page http://www.rootsweb.com or go to: http://lists.rootsweb.com/ >> [unquote] OR - see our list tagline for the address of John Fuller's remarkable list of lists: http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html a winner!

    3. Most people with the name "Onesime" (OH-NAY-ZIM) would use the name "Lesime" (LAY-ZIM). The names were interchangeable.. Like Elizabeth & Isabelle. Lizzie was used by Lezime's DENOYER & DESNOYER are said the same way.
