Sharon - If I remember correctly your Flemings were in Rutherford Co., TN. There is an excellent archives at Rutherford Co. http://www.rutherfordcounty.org/archives/ Follow instructions to enter, go to "online resources" and then to "record book index online". There are some Flemings listed, although not Jacob. You can order these records online or by phone and when I did, they even sent them on the honor system. Hi Eileen; Went back through the book you so graciously sent to see if I missed something concerning the Rankin's and Flemings but "no go". The reference to Violet Rankin & Jacob Fleming is from a posting on Ancestry so am waiting to hopefully hear back from a post-em. Will try the site you mentioned and see what I can come up with.
