Just a general caution to anyone researching the Shelby Co. Wakefield family. There is a book, out of print, but still in circulation that incorrectly traces our family to New England. It is called the Wakefield Memorial and was published about 100 years ago. Mike Wakefield who is now deceased largely disproved that and his work is being carried on by Lonnie Jim Wakefield and others. Our Wakefields were from the south. Sherry
