You might consider also looking for probate or land records. These are generally more common than a will. I'd recommend that you visit familysearch.org and check out the family history library catalog for shelby county, Illinois: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp I have had good success borrowing microfilms from them to my local family history library. Under Shelby, Illinois -> Probate Records You will find that they have 13 rolls of probate records covering the timeframe from 1828-1922. For example: Administration Records vol F-G, 1884-1894: film #1,008,429 Wills, vol A-B, 1870-1895: film #1,008,433 Inventories, vol 15-17, 1877-1894: film #1,008,432 Best of luck. Vicki

    3. Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately our local library is too small to have a micro film reader so they won't order in films. I have a reader but they still won't order in films. Thanks for the suggestion anyway:} Sue from Idaho ----- Original Message ----- From: "Vicki Hutchison" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 27, 2001 10:48 AM Subject: Re: [ILSHELBY] death for Henry K.
