Nichols married Joannah Roark on Sept. 27, 1853 I did get the marrraige cert. and war pension papers but was unable to get his death as they say Shelby ILL. didn't keep deaths until 1877 and I have that Joannah Roark Nichols died in Old Mode 1878 but they said there was no death cert. I have been unable to find the cemetery on Joannah and on George Nichols he grave is in Richland Cemetery there is no record of his death and I can't find the address for the cemetery to get a cert. from there. > > William Nichols Died Jan. 16, 1865 he died in Shelby ILL. but this was before 1877 so his death was not recorded and don't know where he was buried. His wife was P.
