I was trying to find out if the Mary Everett that married Ephraim Allen on Sept. 6, 1871 in Shelby County is the daughter of William & Susan Everett. Darius Everett is my g-g-grandfather and he married Mary Coy in Shelby County on Jan. 17, 1867. Mary Everett was the sister of Darius Everett. I am not sure if you can find anything at the Shelby courthouse that would give me proof that that Mary Everett is my g-g-aunt. I would sure appreciate it if you would see what you could find for me. If you have to spend money on anything just let me know and I will reimburse you. > > > ==== ILSHELBY Mailing List ==== > Do not send Virus messages to the list. > "Problems with the Shelby Co IL Mail List email Tim Casey." > timcasey1@earthlink.net > >

    3. Good Evening Beverly, Elizabeth "Betsy" Coy and John Webb were my 3rd G-Grandparents. But Elizabeth was b. March 6, 1790 in VA (possibly Buckingham Co.). I have visited her grave in Smith Cemetery, Warren Twp., Clinton Co., IN and calculated her birth date off of the dates on her stone. John Webb is buried in the same cemetery. Elizabeth's father was David William Coy Sr. - a Rev. War veteran that migrated out of Maryland through Virginia to Garrard Co., KY where she met my John Webb and married in Feb. 1814. The marriage bond that I possess is signed by William Coy and dated Feb 3, 1814. Not long after their marriage, John and Elizabeth migrated out of central KY to Switzerland Co., IN where 4 documented children were born between 1816 and 1825. My 2nd G-Grandfather, William Webb, was b. in Switzerland Co., IN abt 1816. The family stayed in Switzerland Co., IN until 1849 - at which time John sold off his land and they migrated north to Clinton Co., IN where John and Elizabeth were enumerated in the 1850 census for Clinton Co. The 1850 enumeration for Elizabeth states she was b. in VA. Elizabeth Coy-Webb died in Clinton Co., IN on March 13, 1853. John Webb remarried in Clinton Co. to a Jane Heathcoat on January 17, 1856, died 8 days later on January 25, 1856 and was buried next to Elizabeth. What is interesting is that William Webb, my 2nd G-Grandfather and son of John and Elizabeth, migrated out of Howard Co., IN to Shelby Co., IL with his family some time between March 21, 1862 and July 1865. The family was enumerated in the IL State Census for Shelby Co. in July 1865. William's wife, Penelope Lineback-Webb died in Okaw Twp, Shelby Co., IL on March 10, 1870 and was buried in Foster Cemetery in Todds Point Twp, Shelby Co. William remarried to a Mary Jane White on July 27, 1870 in Sullivan Twp, Moultrie Co., IL, lived on 40 acres in Section 24 of Pickaway Twp, Shelby Co. until his death sometime prior to August 11, 1877. There was a large number of Coy family in Garrard and Madison Co., KY from about 1793 until about 1850 but I don't know of any of them ending up in Shelby Co., IL. Hope this helps.
