Does someone on this list have access to the 1865 state census? And would they be willing to do a lookup for me? I'm looking for someone who might have been in Shelby Co or Cook Co, depending on which source I believe. N.S. BASTION/BASTIAN/BASTON--he shows up on censuses all three ways. And his first name shows up as Nicholas S. his correct initials, or U.S. He was b. 1808 in NY. He was a minister. wife Eunice J. Her name gets butchered even worse on transcripts-- Elizabeth J, E. Jane, Unca. b. 1828 OH. She was listed as a teacher in 1870. Children: Jennie (Jane) b. 1854 Iowa Myra (Mary) b. 1857 Iowa Nicholas (S) b. 1859 Ill Eunice J (same problems as her mother) b. 1863 Ill Since I really don't know for sure where they were in 1865, it is important to me to find out. So I would be very appreciative of someone checking it out for me. Thanks so much, Doris Waggoner Seattle
