Ruth, I can't say that I've found your WILLIAM FRANKLIN TURNER, specifically, however there was a WILLIAM TURNER who died in 1883 & is buried at the old Spain Cemetery along with a lot of our oldest Elams. I found no surname: JEFFERSON in any of the 4 volumes of Ed Bodecker's cemetery books that I have, nor in the 1850 Shelby Co IL census. I did find a Phebe E. BLYTHE who died in 1906 & had married a Swinford. So Phebe was a name carried in that family & is probably connected to yours. I hope to be able to buy more volumes of Bodecker's work when we make a trip "home" in June. A Sarah Turner married my paternal great grandfather, William Elam & had my grandfather, Joel Thomas Elam. Remember that there are so many unmarked or lost graves and when we get to our gg grandparents, it gets VERY challenging to find proof. I would write to the Shelby Co. Historical Society and see if they can find an obit for your William Franklin Turner.
