Anita The marriage record is probably in the Illinois State Archives. I have a copy of the page the marriage was recorded on for a descendant of mine married in Shelby Co., IL in 1839. I was told this is the only record available. You can get this record by going into this address www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/.html. You will then need to go in to IL Marriages. Once there search for your ancestors names. There is instructions on how to obtain records from the archives and which archive holds Shelby Co. records. Copies of the records in IL archives are $.25, I was billed for the copies and sent them a check. I heard they now have you buy a copy card and deduct any copying fees from it. The instructions to pay are probably there too. I know this is not what you requested but it may be an alternative method to your finding what you need.
