Hi Lynn and all... Here is info from Joan Bankson. This stuff was in a bible that Peyton Randall Bankson (son of James and Judith Bankson)owned: James Bankson was born in North Carolina. Judy Bankson was born in Wales. Payton Bankson was born in Georgia 1797-1838 Elenor Bankson was born in Georgia 1799-1852 Andrew Bankson was born 1822-1894 John was born 1823-1906 James was born 1825-1850 Joseph was born 1827 (1815?)-1918 Ira was born 1829-1918 Amanda Black 1830-1915 Lee was born 1831-1855 (1835?) Henry was born 1833-1863 Mildred was born 1835-1841 W. L. was born 1836 Mary Ann Kennedy (1839-1912) William W. Bankson was born 1850-1920 M. L. (Vaughn) was born 1856-1924. I find it odd that Judith according to this had children from 1797 to 1856 (NOT POSSIBLE) but it does give you a place to start looking for who Joseph L. Bankson's gradparents were. Also, Check the 1830 census: William Bankson Alexander, Illinois James Bankson Clinton, Illinois Payton R Bankson Fayette, Illinois Silas Bankson St Clair, Illinois George W Bankson Union, Illinois Regardless, these fella's all descend from Lawrence Bankston and Rebecca Hendricks I am just not sure how. James Bankson had sons named William and Payton but I am not sure how Silas and George fit in.
