Dear List, My apology for approaching this issue this way, and if I'm out of line, List Administrator, let me know. I'm concerned that I may have inadvertently spread a virus today. Background: Several weeks ago I offered to do look-ups in my indexed copy of the Combined Shelby and Moultrie Counties history book. Today I finally found the time to get it done. I responded to 13 queries and my responses were sent off-list. Or I think they were and that was my intent. Some time after my last response, I did a send/receive to check for new e-mail. I got 13 new e-mails from me, James R. Cazier, to the 13 people I sent responses to. I also got a virus alert for the new Badtrans virus that has been going around. I isolated it and deleted it, so I think my computer is OK. One of those responses had an attachment to it. The bottom line is that I didn't send an attachment with any of those responses, so if you got a response from me, with an attachment, it is probably a virus. For those of you I responded to, all of my response data was in the body of the e-mail. If you have a response from me with an attachment, DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENT. You should be safe in opening the e-mail and taking my response data from the body. But, again, DON'T OPEN AN ATTACHMENT. But one of you has an infected computer. Who, I'm not sure. So I suggest each of you do an up-to-date virus check with an up-to-date antivirus program. And again, I apologize if I have inadvertently infected anyone's computer. Dick Cazier
