Sherry, Thanks for the several clues. Unfortunately, I have more clues than time. I intended to check Mc Daniel's and King's for you, but forgot. Will send a reminder to myself (at my office - I'm at home now). Yes, I'd be interested in any other references you have to Beck's Creek, or names buried at Mount Olive. Are all these places in Shelby county, or are they all in Fayette? I take it that Cold Spring must be in Fayette, at least. I've heard of this Traveling Church, think I have some material on it. It was not the only traveling church, however. I can think of one which came from Wales to America in 1701, another which came from Kentucky to Illinois in 1804, and another which moved from Illinois to Texas in 1833, besides others of less note. However the Craig's were well known preachers in their day. You could be right that there were Separate Baptists churches by the same names as the Regular (now called Primitive) Baptists in Shelby county. I think I do have a few of their minutes but have not studied them closely. I have enough to do, just trying to digest what is in the 12,000 published minutes of our own denomination which we have in our collection. Help. Sincerely, Robert On Fri, 27 Apr 2001 07:41:21 -0500 "Sherry Mazzetti" <[email protected]> writes: > ROBERT, > > The Cold Spring should be located in Cold Spring Twp. It's an > actual > spring.
