Hello Tim-- Since you mentioned Tolly in your example, assume you may be related to them. Do you have any information on Sarah Tolly b. abt. 1855 in IL. She was first married to a -----Workman then in about 1884 married my husband's grandfather Thomas Porter. She died before my husband's father (Talmadge Porter) was grown. Talmadge and his sister Maud were living with Daniel Tolly in 1910, who was then 62 years old. Do you know who Daniel was? Brother to Sarah, Uncle or what? Also do you have any history on Sarah? Anything you may have, will certainly be appreciated. I realize, I am doing a lot of assuming here but there is not much information on the Internet for Illinois and I am taking a shot in the dark. Thanks, Ella Porter San Luis Obispo, CA
Ella Yes I do have some Tolley information I would relate to the Tolley family only thru Levi "Ole Flynn" Casey he was the son of Gen Levi Casey and Elizabeth Duckett. Levi "Ole Flynn" Casey had a son John Casey who married into the Tolley Family are a son of his did I will have to check . Levi "Ole Flynn" Casey was 1st cousin to my ggggg grndfather Christopher Casey . Gen Levi Casey was uncle to Christopher Casey. The Workman name is in my files but it may be 1900's that I saw that name. I will check more for you on these surnames. There is a Tolley Cem I believe in Shelby Co IL . John Casey was a Representive from Shelby Co IL . Someone sent me some Tolley info I will have to find it. I dont have everything on Computer but if they sent me a printout I will have it in the Casey file and I will share it with you.
