I am going to make some suggestion here and it is to improve the research. This is a good mail list no problems of any kind since I have had it. Everyone is respectful and helps when they can. That makes a good list. But we need to do some different things to make it easy for those newbies and others. 1. Dont just click on a email to reply change the subject line so it is has more substance to it. say I send a email to IL Shelby Co and in the subject I put Levi Casey okay that gets my attention when I see it on the list okay then I respond to the email in the querie or email it said Levi Casey where did he migrate from. I respond to the list in my subject Levi "Ole Flynn" Casey SC KY IL so that makes it new reply . When you use as an example Combined History of Shelby and Moultrie County as your subject you may be hurting your chances of finding a cousin who is researching your surname. I click on all those messages because my Casey, Tolly are others may being asked about plus checking for rootsweb. It is more of a benefit to those on the list if that Subject read Casey, Tolly . But I would rather click on a Subject named Casey /Tolly than go thru all those same subject lines. Again this is a suggestion some will follow it some will say what the heck. I just want to make the list more researcher friendly lets say. Now someone will get upset but this is not complaining but constructive suggestion. Please do not email the List with your thoughts on this if needed email me at [email protected] use Shelby Co IL List Administrator in your subject line and I will return your email.
