Check here http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilshelb2/1860census.html Shelbyville is the South District, pages 591-763 but they are not in the search engine so you have to go through them one by one. Hi Susan: I went to the site and believe it or not, the person I think I'm looking for is on page 764! I couldn't believe my luck! I got the information off Ancestry.com - Illinois Census, 1810-1890. The person I'm looking for is Henry K. Bones but I believe it will turn out to be Baines and he was in Shelbyville Twp. page 764. Baines, page 308B, Tower Hill Township in that search. :o) I checked both townships for him with both spellings in the 1875 atlas and he doesn't show up. He could have been in yet another township in 1875 or renting. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Barry County MOGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~mobarry/barry.htm Gold Family Association http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~gold/ What do most men consider a gourmet restaurant? A tip for everyone... I'm sure many of you know this and use it often, but I have found this especially helpful when going through online census data with no search feature. When you have the page open, use "Find" from your Edit menu and type in the name (or any other word, #, etc.) that you are looking for. It saves a lot of time and headaches, but be careful to check numerous spellings so you don't miss anything by being too exact. Hope this helps!
