I have been researching Spencer C. Rice but am running into the same brick wall as you. There is a definate key with Spencer and Nancy living with the Johnston family. Spencer was born in Tenn., but married in NC. Nathan their first child was born in NC but I have found that Mary may have been born in Alabama. In other words, I have this family all over and yet nowhere. I would be glad to swap information with you. My lineage is from Jeremiah, son of Jonas & Mary Rice Daniel.
