I am looking for information on my great grandfather Matthew Simpson Rouse. he was born on May 23, 1846. Did they have birth announcements back then? I know that his parents were in Shelby County in 1840 then moved to Iowa vefore the war. Any information on his parents James and Edith(Busey) or his siblings would be wonderful.
