Surnames: Moore Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Vh.2ADE/866 Message Board Post: very eager to find any information on this family, who moved about quite alot and is in a different state for every census I find them in. 1870 US census Windsor, Shelby Cty, IL John Moore born 1841 he is 28 yrs. old and a teacher. he was born in PA Wife: Martha born in OH she was born in 1843 Son: Thomas age 1 born in 1868 Illinois Dau: Jessee age 3 months born in IL Next listed in the house under the same last name is Ella age 17 born in OH and she also teaches school. these are John Scott Moore b. Feb 1841 PA Martha K. ________ b. Mar 1843 OH Thomas Edwin b. Sep 1867 MO/1868 IL Jessie b. 1870 Windsor, Shelby IL I do not know who Ella is, maybe John's sister? John Scott and Martha K Moore are my fiance's great grandparents and they have become a major brick wall-we can trace them to 1870, but have been unable to find them any earlier in any form or manner.
There were some Moores in FORNFELT Missouri, (It's now SCOTT CITY, they changed the name).
