    3. I am not for sure, but should be. I know that is what they are called in Kentucky. Sometimes you don't learn a lot, but every bit helps!<g> Maybe they also have the estate settlements, so you would know who got, or bought what at the estate sale. 3. Thanks, he married in Williams Co., Ohio in 1847 and was in the 1850 census for Seneca Co. Ohio under the name BAME, then from 1859? to his death he was in Shelby Co., Ill. His second wife Susannah Huffman/Hoffman Baines died in 1916 but I don't know the month or day as the cemetery record's for Tower Hill only had 1834-1916, Henry K. was 1821-1888, he was born in England. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Eileen Bridges" <35Hup@consolidated.net> To: <ILSHELBY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, October 05, 2004 3:14 PM Subject: Re: [ILSHELBY] Land Records, etc. > Sue - There is a printed index for the 1857 tax records of Shelby Co., IL > and he is not listed in it. Also I checked printed mortality record for 1860 and did not find the wife listed there even though the 1860 census looked as if she had died in 1860 at least before August when the census was taken. 3. I have requested that the message board to be gatewayed to the mail list. What this means is when a message is posted on the message board (Ancestry.com board) that message will be sent to the mail list. The person who made the query to the message board is probably not a subscriber to the mail list , if you reply it will be to the message board link in the email. The reply will then be sent to the mail list from the message board. This only applies to the message board emails to the list. I do not know when it will start I would say sometime next 5 days. The mail list will work as always if you are a subscriber, you need to do nothing different than you have done in the past. I wanted you all to know what I had done. I hope this will just be another tool for your research and to help others when you can. If any questions do not email the MAIL LIST email me at timcasey01@earthlink.net. 3. Actually, this is not my family. I do volunteer tombstone photos (not usually lookups though) through Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness (RAOGK) and this is a request that I received. Normally I do only Cumberland, Shelby, Jasper, Fayette and Effingham County. Will check to see how far this Adkins(Woodson) Cem is before I commit to doing the pictures as I live in Effingham County. With your permission, I will forward your email to the person who requested the pictures and he/she can correspond with you directly.
