    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Vh.2ADE/812.4.1 Message Board Post: There is a listing of the Shelby County marriage of a William W. Sims and a Phoebe Wyatt in 1869 on the web from the Illinois State Archives. Illinois is one off the few states that lists on the Web all the marriages in most of its counties before 1900. Big Springs Township is one of the southern townships of Shelby County. The towns of Cowden and Herrick lie near that township. Herrick, Illinois is a small town in southern Shelby County near the border with Fayette County. Herrick has a website for locating the names of those buried in the many of the cemeteries near Herrick. The Shelby Genealogical Society has a lot of information in its building a block south of the Court House in Shelbyville, ILL. Go there in person and see what you can find!!

    2. Antoinette Waughtel Sorensen
    3. Is there anyone on the Shelby County List who lives in or near Stewardson who could check for me what it would cost to have a permanent marker installed at the cemetery. I was able to have a temporary marker put up in 1999 by the Brumerstedt (sp) Funeral Home in Stewardson but have no way of contacting them except via snail mail. I can't use a phone due to hearing problems. If someone would be available to check on the cost of a marker and the installation of same I would so gratefully appreciate it. I have found a place in Tennessee who will engrave and ship it for a given amount, but if this can be done right in the Stewardson area it would be so much easier. And they tell me I need to know the cost of having this done at the cemetery also. This would be for a baby who died in 1933 at the age of 8 months. I am not sure at this time if I want a marker "Baby" or a marker "Our Brother". But it would definitely have his full name, his full date of birth and the full date of death. If this can be done via e-mail with a known monument company, that would be great if they have e-mail capability. I apologize for the length of this, and would like to have this taken care of while I'm still around <smile>. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Antoinette (Tacoma, Washington)
