    1. Re: [ILSHELBY] TENNISON, WHITFIELD
    2. I am looking for any information on Rutherford Tennison, born 1803, in Rutherford CO., TN, and Rhody Whitfield Tennison. They married in 1823, in TN, and were in Shelby CO., by 1827. Does anyone know where she is buried? I think she must have died about 1832-3, because he remarried shortly after that. Willis Whitfield of Shelby CO., was most likely her brother, and any information on him would be appreciated too. Karen Alexander

    1. Re: [ILSHELBY] George W. Scribner - Shelby County Illinois EDWARD SCRIBNER
    2. Hi Steve,, Well we both are on the Scriber hunt..While looking for my Polly Ann Scribner I came upon a Edward Scribner who was located in Flat Branch he had a George W. Scribner as his son. I was in Ancestry.com and the results came up. My Polly Ann Scribner has yet to be confirmed, but she was born about 1841 in Illinois, married a John A Taylor per the Illinois marriage archives in 1857 in Shelby County, then she also died there in 1910 in Windsor,Shelby, Illinois. Flat Branch was coming up all over my searchs with the Scribners in the information,,,not sure where it is. Hope this helps I will keep a look out.. Do a search for either William Edward Scribner or Edward Scribner....If this is the one I have more information on where they relocated to. Surnames: Baldwin, Gowdy, Douthit Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Vh.2ADE/827 Message Board Post: IRAD lists marriage in 1895 of Cora Baldwin and Fred A Gowdy. The 1900 Shelby (transcription) census shows they have children Florence, aged 3 and Floyd aged 1. They are living in Ward 3. Cora's parents are Albert & Isabelle Baldwin. Albert Baldwin born abt 1844 in NewYork and Isabelle born abt 1848 in Alabama. Albert died on 1 March 1899, place of death Shelbyville Ward 1. No parentage or place of birth given on d/c. Isabelle Baldwin is living in Ward 3 of Shelby Co in 1900 with sons John aged 22 and Harry aged 12. Believe that son Walter has died and maybe 2 other children. Isabelle Baldwin's d/c states she was buried in Glenwood Cemetery so assume that husband Albert is also buried there. Cora's eldest brother the Rev Lew Baldwin married Anna Douthit in Shelby Co 1893. They had a son Paul. The 1920 Shelby Census shows Rev Lew as Clergyman of the M.E. Church, they residing in Cowden Village, Dry Point Twp. Anyone researching any of these individuals?

    3. I received this note from someone I purchased some items from. If this is your family, she has some treasures for you! ------------------ Hello again. I would really like to give Audrey Danenbarger's photos to a family member. I was wondering if you could post them for me or I could mail them to you if you think you might be able to find a home for them? One of my "hobbies" as a novice genealogist is reuniting lost photos that I find in antique shops or auctions with family members. I have had some luck with other photos but Audrey's photos have me stumped. I found a letter with the photos that was addressed to a Mrs. Chas. R. Wilson, 408 No Broadway, Shelbyville, Ill 62565. Letter is dated 1978. The photos might be of Audrey in front of a house that was "the first free school in Shelbyville" that was refered to in the letter. (I will also include the letter.)
