    3. Hi Eileen This explains what happened to James Davis husband to Juliana Todd Davis, and why he can not be found in 1850 census and why she is living with her brother John H. Todd family in 1850 Wisconsin. What took them that far north is a big question too. 3. Dear Eileen WOW !! Everyone has been so very helpful on this list, it is amazing what everyone has found for me. Do you know where these records would be keep, I would like to send for copies of the pages for each one? I do a very deep research when studing the family, it helps me get to know each one personally. I am wondering about Francis M. Todd who recieved $15.05 of John H. Todd, is it possible that she was the daughter of William M. Todd and wife Lutecia; Lutecia was living with John H. Todd in the 1850 Wisconsin census along with Francis M. and others of William Todd's family? This would make John H. Todd her/his Uncle and according to this info here maybe and aminstrator of the Estate for William M. Todd. But, to date I have not found a connection with any Todd family who have a Francis Todd as head of family, this may very well be the clue to the partents of John Todd Sr. & Edward Todd Sr. who were in Fayette County 1784~1790/91. again, John Sr. was Benjamin B. Todd father and grandfather to John H. Todd of the entries here in your email. Interesting, need to know more on this person. Nicholas Co. is Next county to Bourbon Co KY. from 'Paris City' in Bourbon Co, to county line it is 9.4 miles with Nicholas Co line. Most likely about 10 to 15 miles from where they live when there father Benjamin B Todd was living prior to his death. Amazing amount of info to sort out, how wonderful! 3. Lorraine - In 1840 Shelby County, Illinois is listed John H. Todd [00001-000000001]. When I had read the 1840 census, I noted that he was on pg 4. The census did not indicate districts in Shelby County for 1840. It looks as he were single and had an older woman [possibly mother] living with him. In March of 1840, there is a William Todd listed as a purchaser at the estate sale or John Potts. From the land description it looks like John Potts owned land in Todd's Point which bordered Moultrie Co. There is a marriage record for John H. Todd who married Neomia Killam, 29 Apr 1841, B. W. Henry officiating Also a marriage record for Wm. M. Todd who married Lucreta Demert, 22 Aug 1834, B. W. Henry officiating I am assuming that B. W. Henry was Bushrod W. Henry, early Christian Church preacher in Shelby Co. IL. I did not find any Todds in 1850 or 1860 in Shelby Co. Now in Shelby County Probate Court, 1 Oct 1844 is an estate record for Francis Todd. John H. Todd appointed administrator and also is listed as a purchaser at the sale along with Thomas Davis, Michael Gregory, and Carlisle Deval. Listed in pages 103 and 104, in Probate Journal II part I In Probate Journal II, part II, pg 493 Came Isaac Killam, guardian for Francis Mariah Todd, a minor and made a settlement which included "$15.05 received of John H. Todd, said minors father cash" which I interpret to mean either that the Francis Todd who died in 1844, had a minor child, Francis Mariah Todd, for whom John H. Todd, adm. of Francis Todd, submitted cash to the guardian from the estate - or another interpretation could be that John H. Todd was said minor's father. It is very difficult to assess as to the meaning of this entry. A biography of John Thomas Killiam of Shelby Co., IL stated that a John Todd married Naomi Killiam, d/o Peter Killiam. I don't know the connection of the two Killiams but they seemed to have migrated from Nicholas Co., KY in the 1830's. Buried in Craig Cemetery, which is located in Sec. 28, Ridge Twp. about three miles north and three miles west of Shelbyville: Peter Killiam ; Died Sept. 11, 1838; Aged 60 yrs.6 mo. Leah, wife of Peter Kiliam; Died Nov. 17, 1832; Aged 55 yrs, 2 mo, 28ds William Kiliam, Pvt., 3 Ill. Vols. Mex. War; 3 Jul 1852 Namoi, wife of J. H. Todd; Died Nov. 2, 1847; Aged 27 yrs, 3 mo. 12 ds. Now this is interesting - 1850 Iowa Co., Wisconsin, Dodgevlle 1117/1117 - John H. Todd, 42, KY, clerk Lutecia, 34, IL William H., 12 IL Charles, 10 IL Francis M., female, 6 IL Francis E., female, 5 Wisc Francis Barrett, female, 20 IL Martha Phillips, 23 IL Julian Davis, 45 KY Bayless Davis, 11 IL Hanah Williams, 25, Wales Charles Nourse, 21 KY,clerk B. 3. Hi Bess I do not know when they were born, Juliana Todd Davis' father did not arrive in Bourbon Co KY until 1808 or so. His father John Todd Sr. & John's brother Edward Todd arrived from Fayette Co. PA. 1790. [I have cases on this also] Edward died 1795, John Todd Sr. died 1809, John Todd Jr. Benjamin's brother died 1828 Bourbon Co KY. Benjamin B. Benjamin may have had another wife prior to coming to Bourbon Co. There are not many Benjamin's of this time frame anywhere in the US and I have been in touch with researchers of the others Benjamin. lines, so this is like John in this Todd family to many in each generation just to pick one an say this is the right family. 3. Lorraine, So, Julianna Todd married James Davis in KY in 1823, and both served as grantors in KY in 1838... Were they (couple)born abt 1800? That would mean everyone listed on the 1850 census for Shelby County, IL would be too young to be "your" Davis line. What makes you think they were in Shelby County, IL in 1850? Are the Todd's on the 1800 census for KY?
