    2. Correction on dates: Martha Rachel Bankson Wakefield was born 1760. Her daughter, Anna Wakefield, who married Charles Wakefield, and as a widow married Thomas Pugh, was born in 1787. Anna was 48, when she married Thomas Pugh, so it is unlikely that they had any children.

    2. With great interest, I have been reading these Pugh family messages. My family, Hoopers, Wakefields, Banksons, and extended family, were early settlers in Shelby County, IL. Going through a file this morning, I found: Pernetty Wakefield, b. 1824, married James M. Rhodes in 1840, Shelby, IL. Joseph L. Wakefield, b. 1839, , married Sarah E. Pugh in 1863, Tower Hill, IL Anna Wakefield, born 1760, widow of Charles Wakefield, married Thomas Pugh 12/29/1835, Shelby County, IL. Clearly, by age, Anna and Thomas did not have children. This Anna Wakefield, was also a Wakefield by her maiden name. She was the daughter of Rachel Martha Bankson, and Charles Wakefield. Anna's first husband was also named Charles Wakefield, and they were distant cousins. I thought, but cannot find the information in file, that Nancy Bankson (niece of Rachel Martha), also married a Pugh, after she was widowed from Jonathan Hill. A lot of the early marriages in Shelby County, were performed by Simeon Wakefield, or Eli Hooper. Dori Hooper

Later both these families moved to Illinois to Bond, Fayette and Shelby counties but there are more that stayed in K.Y. I remember looking up the Nichols and Pugh and Halls in the marriage index. I am sorry I lost all my research and I don't remember the county in K.Y. William Nichols and a ? Hall were the exceters of Thomas Pugh estate. This is my Broken link as they has a son whom they named Thomas Pugh Nichols and there seem to be 2 Thomas Nichols one married Delinda Rhoads and the other married Melinda Ginger mine is the Thomas and Melinda line.
