    2. Dear Elam, Thank you for the info. Ervin Self moved to Carroll County, Arkansas by 1840. Erby Self married Mary ?? and by 1840 they too are in Carroll County, Arkansas. Mary was born in Illinois and she and Erby's first child was born in Illinois. I have not been able to find Erby Self anywhere in 1860 and wonder if he may have gone back to Illinois. Mary is back in Arkansas in 1870 with her children. Can find no record of Erby being in the Civil War. Am trying to find the info on Ervin or Evin as is transcribed sometimes, to try and connect him to Erby. Thanks for all the help the list is sending. I appreciate it VERY much. 1. Re: [ILSHELBY] Marriage record
    2. Anita The marriage record is probably in the Illinois State Archives. I have a copy of the page the marriage was recorded on for a descendant of mine married in Shelby Co., IL in 1839. I was told this is the only record available. You can get this record by going into this address www.cyberdriveillinois.com/departments/archives/.html. You will then need to go in to IL Marriages. Once there search for your ancestors names. There is instructions on how to obtain records from the archives and which archive holds Shelby Co. records. Copies of the records in IL archives are $.25, I was billed for the copies and sent them a check. I heard they now have you buy a copy card and deduct any copying fees from it. The instructions to pay are probably there too. I know this is not what you requested but it may be an alternative method to your finding what you need. 3. Dick, I have a huge pile of genealogy stuff sitting on my desk and I haven't been able to do much with it. I just started digging through the pile tonight. In answer to your question, Yes, this is the Elizabeth Elder that married Townsend Baker in 1858 in Moultrie County, IL. They moved to Yell County, Arkansas and apparently Elizabeth died there as Townsend married a second time and his son Townsend ended up in Texas near the Oklahoma border. I would love to have any information on your line that you could send me. I will be happy to provide you copies of my stuff as well. Let me know the best medium for exchanging information. I use Family Tree Maker so I can send a file or print it out on paper for you as well. Just let me know. Thanks and sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
