    3. Michelle, We are cousins that's for sure. I am the great-great great grandson of Joseph Henry Baker who is a brother to your James Baker. I have lots of Baker information that I will freely share. I would like to see all of your Baker information as well. I use Family Tree Maker and can email you a CD with the Baker information on it. Let me know how you wish to handle this. John Fahland Michelle Robinson wrote: > Hi I am researching my mothers line and thought I might find some > documents or more information to what I have. Hi List, My GGGG Grandfather Moses Flanders had a brick factory west of Shelbyville, he donated all the bricks for the Moulton Church Building and made the bricks for the Shelby County Courthouse. Does any body have a picture of Moses Flanders, is the Moulton Church still standing (if so where I view a picture of it)? Any information would be appreciated. Shari in NJ

    1. [ILSHELBY] Family History Link (Primitive Baptist Library)
    2. Robert L Webb
    3. Dear County List, As of this afternoon, we have uploaded a page with some church history and surnames of members (as far as we have them) for Shelby County, which may be of some help to researchers who have ancestors who were members of the Primitive Baptist church. We have now entered similar pages for over 70 counties in Illinois, as a link to our homepage on our website. The information regarding the members names comes from a database in our library computer which is not on-line, but the surnames serve as an index to it, to help researchers determine if they may have connections in some of our churches. The database has been (and is still being added to) compiled from original source documents, including church and association records, and obituaries - many of which are found in our shelves of bound church periodicals. We are lacking part of the church records for these Shelby County, and would love to obtain them, if any of them exist, so we would appreciate help from anyone who may be able to help us. To see our website, go to our homepage: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/pbl.html or go directly to the Family History Assistance page at: http://www.carthage.lib.il.us/community/churches/primbap/FamHist.html Sincerely, Robert L. 1. Re: [ILSHELBY] WILBORN CEMETERY - SHELBY COUNTY
    2. Brian Smith - regarding Nancy Smith and James Wilborn I believe James is the oldest son of John Wilburn, SR. John, Sr arrived in the Shelby county area about 1825. Based on the 1820 Census for Scott County, IN he had 7 daughters and 3 sons. I believe these are eight of his children's marriages below. Samuel Zachariah Robertson m. Mary Wilburn abt 1818 in IN brother to Simeon Simeon Robertson m. Anne Wilbourne 2 Sep 1824 Jennings County, IN John Wilburn m. Ellen Webb 4/29/1838 Lavina Wilburn m Thomas Howe 8/10/1839 James Wilborn m. Nancy Smith 3/27/1827 Isaac Welborn m. Sarah Little 10/4 /1838 Lidy(Lydia) Welborn m. Jerimiah Provolt 10/4/1828 Sally Willborn m. Henry Smith 11/8/1827 The marriages came from IL Statewide marriage index and the IN Statewide Index. The Samuel Zachariah Robertson line is my direct line and a research group of Robertson cousins have located a great deal of information on that line. These probably are two more daughters and they were married to McCunes They are Sarah Ann Wilbourn m. Samuel McCune b. 14 Feb 1817 Elizabeth Wilbourn m. Abraham McCune b. abt 1818 This information came from another Robertson researcher and I do not know the source or any other information about them. I did find a Probate record that mentions James and John and his son in law Thomas How. Also mentions his wife's name as Mary Willbourn. I have been researching the Welborn/Wilburn etc. family only a short period of time. I do have these marriages for Smith's which occurred about the same time as Sally's and Henry Smith's, James and Nancy Smith. Based on how these families married their neighbors and other related family members I would check these names out on censuses and other records in Shelby county. William Smith m. Milly Miller 7/10/1828 William Smith m. Matilda Daniel 10/14/1829 Andrew Smith m. Cyntha Verdin 1830 Daniel Smith m. Sarah Ann Waggoner 1843 This last name could be the youngest child in a family or the next generation. The Shelby Genealogy Site has some records online and you might find some names listed there. The census might help you locate these people help establish who might have been neighbors. Hope this helps and gives you some ideas. 3. I have a photo of the tombstone of Almira & William GASS. I took this photo several years ago and now do not believe there is any relationship to my ROBERTS family. This is located in the Clark Cemetery, Shelby Co IL, Oconee Township. Dates for Almira 1854-1901; dates for William 1845-1903. I am ready to toss this photo out. However, before destroying it, I thought there might be someone who is related and would like to have it. I will be happy to mail it to you. Please reply privately - first come, first served. 1. Re: [ILSHELBY] WILBORN CEMETERY - SHELBY COUNTY
    2. Hi, My cemetery book shows the following about Wilborn Creek Cemetery: Shelby County, Illinois Cemetery Inscriptions Vol. II, p. 83: "The Wilborn Creek Cemetery is located on the former Bert Carroll farm. The last known burial was in 1905. Several stones are down and there is evidence of several unmarked graves. There were many footstones in the cemetery with no inscriptions. It is next to impossible to reach this cemetery. Early spring and fall are the only times that it is accessible. It is located in the midst of a wooded area full of thickets, briars and brambles and all sorts of undergrowth. The cemetery is about one-half mile back from any clearing. It is on a hill. Early history records that the Wilborn Creek Church stood on the hill on the opposite side of Wilborn Creek. The cemtery is fenced. This reading of stones was done in October, 1970, and the only evidence that there was a cemetery in the vicinity was about three tall stones which towered above the weeds and undergrowth. Tree limbs, leaves, moss and other debris had to be moved off stones so that they could be read. This land is now owned by the Federal Government in connection with the Shelbyville Dam Project. It is a shame that a road has not been made to this cemetery and that the cemetery itself is not cleaned up and cared for." Shaunee Power

    3. Thank you Shaunee. I have forwarded your message to a couple gals that has a Robertson line in common with me. They mentioned the Wilborn line marries into their Robertson and the reason for my posting. We are trying to determine who the cemetery actually belonged to in the beginning. I am awaiting their replies but most likely I will be contacting the Shelby Genealogy Society.
