Searching for the names SHAW, LAWYER, EMERICK and SCHAFFER. Samuel SCHAFFER married Harriet EMERICK sometime in the 1830's. Samuel was from around Rushville, IL. Harriet was from Virginia. I don't know how many children they had. One daughter was Eliza Jane. She was born on April 16, 1837 in Rushville. Eliza Jane married John Wesley LAWYER. He was born on January 24, 1834. They had six children. Nancy, Amanda, William, Dora Ann, Tinee, and Henry. The first two were born in Springfield, IL. The others were born in Washington State. Nancy was my gggrandmother. She married a SHAW in IL. They had my ggrandmother, Lida SHAW on December 14, 1874. Something happened so that Nancy and Lida moved back to Washington. Thanks, Julie Hendrix
