Hello, I'm looking for information about my 2nd grt-g'parents, Hester Ann EDWARDS and Pleasant Lorenzo Bishop WINGO. They lived in Rushville after being married in Morgan Co., IL in 1834. I have a certified copy of their marriage license obtained from Jacksonville, IL courthouse thanks to information given to me a few years ago by Ms. Lavina Walton at the Old Jail Museum and Genealogy Center. I'm at a brick wall as to both of their parents. From family stories I believe it was her father that supposidly made Geo. Washington's uniform. I would like to be able to prove this but don't have her father's name. I think she had a sister named Nancy. They had lots of children, of which, one was my grt-g'father, James Douglas WINGO who married Mahala Elzina Cooper. They were the parents of my g'mother, Ada Mae WINGO who m: Jesse STONEKING in McDonough Co., IL. Are there any decendants of the above ancestors still around that could and/or would help me with this? Any information GREATLY APPRECIATED. My other surnames include: More STONEKING's, PIALS,PILES, PYLES, CUMBERLIDGE, CUMBERLEDGE, SHAW, WILLEY, and on my maternal side of the family: JUSTUS, JUSTICE, Moses my 4th grt-g'father (REV VET), YOUNG, STANDARD, PAYNE to name a few. I have been accepted into the DAR from my STONEKING,Jacob (PA REV VET) my linage goes down from his son Joseph D., his son George W., his son Andrew, his son Jesse, his son Bennie Evans (still living in Moline, IL). Moses Justus is named on a plaque in the Rushville Schuyler Co., IL Court House. Being a STONEKING myself it was easier for me to obtain and prove my STONEKING ancestors, with help from a distant cousin in Macomb, to get my DAR as most of them had lived in this area, including me.
