While sharing information on Robert Bagby, I may as well give all the names I have been able to find of people who were members of the Salem, or New Salem Regular Baptist Church which was near Lincoln's New Salem. Some of you may have seen the log replica of the church or school in the Park. The church was actually located some distance from the little village. I have estimated that at least a hundred people were members of this church during its relatively short life - it lasted from August 1829 until about 1860. In about 1832 when the Sangamon Association met there (probably hundreds or maybe thousands of people present), the church had about 50 members. It is truly sad, to me, that the records of this church did not survive. Robert Webb NAME Armstrong, Hugh Bagby, Elder Robert Brunk, David Elmore, Thomas Goldsby, J. B. Graham, Mentor Green, Felix G.
