Make sure you double check the info in Early Settlers. I have found the vast majority of info to be correct, but have encountered some errors. Errors can lead you on a wild goose chase for years to come. Check the info against documented sources - census, marriage, property, probate, tax records and the like. In the early days of the county, Sangamon was much larger than it is now. It included parts of Macon, Christian, Logan and all of some other counties. Movement which seems to be within counties was actually still within the same county of the day. Check maps of the era to see where the bounderies were. Dave H Nicea@aol.com
