If they were in Mechanicisburg area, you might also look at Illiopolis, Buffalo Hart and Mt. Auburn (Christian County). There was a lot of movement between these communities. Current funeral home for Illiopolis is Dawson & Wicoff. They took over for Pritchett (or something like that) Funeral Home. I don't know who was contemporary with your relatives. They do not appear in the Cemeteries of Mechanicsburg Township. Only Weaver is Sarah E. Weaver d. Feb 2, 1894 56y 11m 14 d (Row 14) No tombstone. Buried with the Knight family. I don't find them in Long Point Cemetery (Niantic) or Friend's Creek Cem. in Macon County. I don't find them in Cooper Twp (Sangamon County) either, their son, Samuel's, home. They were long shots, but they are not that far from Mechanicsburg so they were not totally out of the question. The church records for Illiopolis Christian Church begin in 1866. The Illiopolis Methodist Episcopal Church records begin 1875. Not much help. I am not aware of the Catholic Church or other church records being published. Dave Hunter Nicea@aol.com
