I've noticed that sometimes the name, when it's written in messy longhand has looked like Poffenburger- and there ARE Poffenburgers in the area. The name has also been written Peifenburg. I think originally it might have been Pfeinburger. Anyway, thanks for spending your lunch hour checking this. We'll pursue the Kidds in Macoupin Co. thanks! Alison Clement
