Lincoln Library is the Springfield Public Library. They have quite a collection of historical books on IL in general in the general collection and Sangamon County and other Central IL counties in the Sangamon Valley Room on the 3rd floor. They also have tons of obituaries. For books you may also want to check out the STate Historical Library which is located underneath the Old State Capitol building downtown.
