I am looking for directions (and information) on Buffalo Hart Cemetery, which appears to be east of Springfield and south of Highway 54 near the Sangamon/Logan county border. Is the cemetery still there, and how well maintained is it? Are there any other cemeteries nearby? I am looking for Ridgeways that may have been buried there. They lived in Buffalo Hart. I have found other family members buried in Carlyle Cemetery, but could find no mention of Ausburn or Jane or Edward Ridgeway in any transription of cemeteries for Sangamon County. However, I did have someone tell me that Ausburn Ridgeway had a large stone marking his grave. I would assume that his wife (Jane) would also be buried with him and, since his son Edward died before Ausburn did, then Edward would most likely be there also. The timeframe is around 1850 so the border between Sangamon and Logan counties would still have been changing.
