Two years later they settled in Cotton Hill Township. They came to Sangamon County from Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia) with a possible stop in Licking County, Ohio. William had md. his first wife, Margaret CHAMBAUGH in Va. and they were the parents of the following children: John md. Sarah DONNER (daughter of George) Absalom Robert Nancy md. William MARTIN Samuel md. Polly DELAY William md. 1. Bernatta MELUGIN, 2. Nancy? 3.Mary DUNN Silas Catharine Jane md. Henry FOSSETT Margaret died and William md. Celia in Hampshire County and they were parents of the following children: Josiah md. Emily M. FREE Emanuel Isaac Margaret Ann William TORRENCE died 17 April 1841 and Celia md. John H.
