I was looking for the Elmer Kidd family of Illinois. He was supposed to have married Blanche Peifenberger (according to Mari Clement) and I was verifying this by looking at the 1920 Soundex for Illinois. I was also looking for any of Blanche's family. The Soundex code is P-151 and all I could find were Poffenbarger, Poffenburger, Poffenburg, Poffenberg, etc. and most of them were in Rochester, Sangamon County, Illinois. I would suggest that you try looking for a different spelling of the surname -- there were no Peifenbergers at all. Hope that helps.
