I'm responding as a result of visiting the Chatam/Loami photo homepage and noticed Campbell. I was corresponding with a gentleman on this list a while back who was connected to your same Campbell line, but he and I could not our two together. I'll try again. So...here's the story. A Mary Jane Goings married a John Gilpin. in 1876. Mary Jane Goings (Gilpin) then married Charles X. Campbell in 1886 - Sangamon Co She then married John Jennings. Mary Jane may be listed in the 1880 census wife of OS Campbell - Pike Co, Hadley. In 1900 census when she is married to John Jennings, they are living next to Martha B. Miller. Sangamon Co Now....... through my grandmother I have inherited a big collection of old photos. One is of a farmhouse with people posing out in front. My grandmother (or possible my gr-grandmother) has identified with ink on this photo.... Pearl Campbell on horse (dau. of Mary Jane) Hired man beside the horse. Neighbor of Mary Jane Mary Jane Campbell - nee Goings, sister of John Wesley Goings At the top of this photo written in ink Springfield Illinois. Mary Jane's third husband Jennings must have died because after about 1900 she moved to San Antonio, Texas. I have a copy of her estate and the only Campbell mentioned is a Lee Roy Campbell. This Lee Roy may have been her descendant or he could have been a treasured son of the OS (OX) Campbell husband. I've suspected he had a previous family before marrying MJ. If anyone can put all this together, I'd appreciate it. I can scan a the pic and send it. Someone may be able to recognize the house it's very distinctive in appearance...possibly it still stands .
