    3. Lincoln Library (Springfield's public library) has microfilmed issues of the Sangamo Journal (1831-1849), the IL State Journal (formerly known as the Sangamo Journal) 1850-1974; the IL State Register 1831-1974; and the IL State Journal-Register 1974-current. There are a few other Springfield-only newspapers that are also on microfilm at the public library. All these newspapers, as well as over 5000 more newspapers from all over Illinois (on over 80,000 rolls) are also at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library (formerly the holdings of the IL State Historical Library) - also in Springfield. I research at both libraries, in addition to the IL State Archives, on almost a daily basis - so if I could be of any assistance, let me know offlist, ok? more info on my website, given below.
