George was the father of George & Jacob of Donner Party Fame. I have the obituary for George Sr. from the Sangamo Journel in 1844 but have never been able to locate his burial site nor that of his wife, Mary. My question is does anyone know the procedure to have a government headstone placed for a Revolutionary. I realize it would have to be a Cenotaph. Since many of the DONNER desendants are buried at Oak Hill in Springfiel I thought that would be a logical site. Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
