My husband is descended from the McKINNEY family who came to Sangamon Co., IL from Kentucky. They are buried at the McKINNEY Cemetery which is north of Springfield close to Capital Airport. I can get the exact location for you if you need it. I don't know if they were the "McKinney settlement" you're seeking or not. Can't tell you how delighted we were to stumble over this cemetery a few years ago, though. The McKINNEY's grand-daughter, Eleanor LANTERMAN was the second wife of PB Elder Milton CARPENTER, son of PB Elder Chester CARPENTER. She is also my husband's ancestor.
