The Sangamon County Genealogical Society will be hosting a preview tonight of sale items for tomorrow's Tenth Annual White Elephant/Book Sale. The sale is being held at the society office, 2856 South 11th Street in Springfield. We are approximately three blocks north of Stephenson Drive on 11th Street at the corner of 11th and Knox Streets. There is parking in the lot north of the society office near the Sangamon Pain Center sign. We will be open tonight from 6:30 pm. to 8:30 pm. and tomorrow from 9:00 am. to 2:00 pm. Our phone number is 217-529-0546. We are also open on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 9:00 for researching of our new library materials. Included among these materials are newspaper microfilm for Auburn, Petersburg and Virden; surname and obituary files; microfilm copies of various Sangamon County vital records from the 1870s to the 1910s and 1920s.
