I am searching for the parents. Polly married Charles C. Waterman on 3 Dec. 1842 in Mechanicsburg, IL. They had 5 daughters Sarah Elizabeth b. 1843, Matilda Jane b. 12 Apr 1845, Julia Ann b. 31 Oct 1851, Mary Catherine, b. 1853 and Emma Emaline b. 1861. Their 3 sons died in childhood. Mary Anne 'Polly' married R. J. Burgess 2 yrs. after the death of Charles Waterman and had one son, Samuel in 1864. I believe that Mary Anne 'Polly's' parents are buried near Mechanicsburg, but can find no records of Polly to determine who they were--no obituary--no death record that would say who her parents were. I have checked the SCGS cemetery directories for that area and though I found many Browns, cannot find her parents. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. shirle7
