I have some information on the Stewart family in central Illinois. To the best of my knowledge there were no plantations--per se- here in central Illinois. There certainly were some huge farms though:) I will be happy to share the information I have if you want it- I did notice there were Stewart's "of color"-African-American/ Mulatto in the area in the time frame you mentioned.
What are of CEntral IL are you refering to?
