    3. It could be the first page is missing. Heritage Quest does not have the 1840 Census so I can't check there.     3. Cheryl, I thought of that, too....that the first page is simply missing but.....Alex Reeves is in the index. They had page one long enough to see his name. ;o) The link takes you to the other half of page one. I was hoping that the local genealogy society or library had the 1840 census. Is there somewhere that I can call or write to get a copy? Thanks for checking. Carole
