I descend from William Thomas Sutton- born August 7, 1832-33 in Springfield, Sangamon county Illinois to unknown parents. I do think I know who his parents were but I cannot prove it for sure. There was a David Sutton who married a Martha Hopkins in Sangamon Co. Il in I believe 1837. They were all living in Logan County IL in the census of 1850- William living with another family as a farm labor. Well, David and Martha had a daughter that was listed as age 15- she would have been born about 1835, so that would not make it impossible for them to have a child born in 1832-33 before they were married in 1837. William went on to marry Charity Cravens and had a son, David and a daughter Martha, along with others, respectively. I apologize if I am rattling on and I also apologize if I was talking in circles.
