    1. [ILSANGAM-L] Porter's Grove
    2. I have done a search of the Illinois Place Names book, compiled by James N. Adams Occasional Publications, Number 55 Illinois State Historical Society, Springfield, Illinois 1989 and find no mention of a Porter's Grove for the entire state of Illinois. I also checked to see if there was a Potter's Grove and came up with the same result. Perhaps the spelling might be wrong or it was such a small community that it was never put on any map. During the beginning of the railroad age, 1850s, there were many paper towns platted in Illinois. This may have been a paper town and never came to life. The way in which to research this problem would be either through researching all the county histories of the 102 counties in Illinois or going to each and every courthouse and doing a deed search for the first thirty to forty years of that county's existance.
