Did you check the Illinois State Archives for a free uncertified copy of her death record? They will do 2 requests at a time, and no new request until you receive a response. They have copies of death records from 1916-1947. Here is their web address for a request: http://www.sos.state.il.us/cgi-bin/archives/arcreq.s You can expect your answer between 4 and 8 weeks.
