I am trying to establish that Charles Parrish (Parish) is the son of Eli Parish and his second wife, Mary E. Leachman. Her second marriage also. Her first husband was John Leachman. According to the Ill Marriage bonds listed by the Ill Archives, it shows her first marriage to the following. LEACHMAN, JOHN A HESSER, MARY E 05/03/1843 00A/0012 00000082 CHRISTIAN The Ill Archives, also shows her marrage to Eli Parish. PARISH, ELI H LEACHMAN, MARY E 09/26/1855 00A/0084 00000562 CHRISTIAN Charles is the child of this marriage. He may have married PARISH, CHARLES ROBISON, JOSEPHINE 02/06/1884 00B/0199 00005791 CHRISTIAN Known children from this marriage according to the census of 1910 in Sangamon county Il are: Lillian b about 1887 in Il. age 23 Carl son b Il age 20 Clarence Hitt grandson. So does anyone know if this is the son of Eli H. Parish (Parrish) and his second wife Mary E? I also have an article from a book, "Past and Present" of Christian County, Ill., dated 1904. George A Parish states that Eli H Parish, his father, had 9 children. In 1904 still living were Benjamin, George A., Josephine (Abigail),Austin, Robert, who makes his home in ILlinois, and Charles, a half-brother of George now living in Springfield. I think this may be Springfield, Il. Charles also had two half sisters. The 1860 census of Christian co Il lists Mary E as head of household. (Eli H Parish died in July of 1856. Some of his younger children were taken in by the older ones from his first marriage.) The girls, Harriet, age 12 and Mary Lee, age 8 are listed as having the last name Parish but they were Leachmans. Also Still looking for the right Abraham Parish who is the father of Eli H Parish.
