Surnames: Richardson, Vaughn, Clayton Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/xg.2ADI/2620 Message Board Post: I'm trying to trace my great great grandparents, William Richardson (b. 2 Apr 1835 IL, d. 13 Jan 1922) and Pertima Vaughn (b. 10 Apr 1837 IL, d. 20 Jun 1909). I just received a copy of their marriage record from the Sangamon county clerk. It shows the marriage took place on 11 May 1858 and Abram Debor performed the service. Anyone know what church Abram Debor was associated with in 1858 (or in any year for that matter)? I'd like to trace William's parents and that is a bit of a brick wall. All I have is the name Richardson and that both were born in North Carolina. I'm hoping if I can identify William's religion and church, it might lead to some church records. Just to round out the info in this message, Pertima's parents were Martha Clayton born in KY and Benjamin F. Vaughn b. abt 1815 in KY. Martha Clayton may have died before 1848 and Benjamin may then have married Martha (Austin) Bull in 1848 as his second marriage. The family was generally in Morgan County, but the marriage took place in Sangamon so I suspect they lived here for some period of time or had family in the county.
